About Me

Hi! I am Qingyun Luo, currently pursuing a Master of Architecture at Tsinghua University and expecting to graduate in June 2026. I received my B.Arch from Tsinghua University in 2024.😊

My research interests are at the intersection of urban heritage, history, and contemporary management (where new forms of stakeholders are engaged). Having engaged in fieldwork and research in both Shanghai and Beijing, I am familiar with the dynamics of China’s urban environments. My recent projects focus on 20th-century heritage sites, particularly Shanghai’s former concessions and nearby communities, where I have examined historical institutions, everyday life, public perceptions, and the dissonance embedded in collective memory. I also investigate how multiple actors—including governments, communities, and cultural institutions—construct and contest narratives and management of heritage. Familiar with qualitative, quantitative, and data-driven research methods, I hope to further pursue an academic career in related field.Â
